As I seem to begin many of these posts......I cannot believe that Kate is already 4 months old. As I sit and write this blog, I am listening to her coo and talk to herself in her crib. She is supposed to be taking a nap, but is the ultimate sleep fighter during the day. I think she inherited this trait from me! I have never been one for naps, even as a small child. But, I have to say that she will at least usually lay in her bed and entertain herself by talking to Pink Cow, Ernie, and the black & white bumper pads that she is obsessed with for a bit. (She will just continuously stroke the bumper pad as she is attempting not to sleep). She has pretty much given up the pacifier now. I don't think that she has taken one in the last couple of weeks. She is moving on to bigger and better things--her THUMB. She dosen't quite "suck" her thumb yet, but she kind of chews on it. I forsee that actual sucking will be happening in the coming weeks. She is also drooling so much that she can go through a dozen bibs a day. I have to continue to change them, because she gets raw and rashy up under her chins (yes, chins!) from all the moisture. Miss Kate is also become quite the chatterbox. She loves to coo and talk to anyone or anything that will listen to her. And her squeals and real laughs are becoming more frequent. It makes my day to get her to really laugh! She loves to take a bath and play with her many rubber ducks. I am already starting to get looks from her as I try to actually bathe her as if she is trying to say, "Could you please stop all that bathing, I am trying to play here!" She is starting to be curious about her toes. She will stare at them and try to grab at them. But, has not mastered that yet. It is so fun to watch her grow, and discover, and change before our very eyes. I am so thankful everyday that God blessed us with our Kate!
Amazing Grace....how sweet the sound!
