Big Sky and Yellowstone, Montana 2009

We took our first family summer vacation in July to Big Sky, Montana and Yellowstone National Park. It was Kate's first everything. First plane ride, first ski lift ride, first Edward Jones trip, etc. We had a wonderful time. And Kate did better than I expected with the traveling and airport layovers. The weather was awesome. It did not get above 60 degrees for the first couple of days we were there. It was actually COLD! It did warm up into the 70's and maybe close to 80 by the end of the week, but it was definately a nice break from the Texas heat. Yellowstone was georgeous, but alot of driving. There was also construction going on in the park while we were there. That slowed us down on several occasions. We saw Old Faithful, wildlife, the hot springs, and lots of pretty land. The Big Sky Resort was about 45 minutes away from Yellowstone, and being a ski resort, was nestled way up in the mountains. It was very very cool to see the mountains without all the snow on them.
